I'm doing well. I'm excited to share my latest make with you.
Every year in September, our church has it's annual conference. I look forward to the fellowship with other churches, the messages, and making something red for Sunday service.
Here's my something red:
I made this dress using 3 yards of this beautiful Ankara wax print from House of Mami Wata & NewLook 6370. The zipper and white cotton I used to line the bodice ate from Wal-Mart. The thread is from Jo-Ann Fabrics.
I love this dress! It took about 10 hours to make, from cutting the pattern to finished hem. I had a few firsts: lapped zipper and hand attached bodice. I was also excited that it lenses itself perfectly for a little pattern matching. The only thing I missed from this dress was pockets. I'll remember to add them next time.

Pattern Description:
Misses' dress with princess seams can be made V-neck with belt, half sleeves and optional lace overlay, or sleeveless with V-neck and scalloped hem, or scoop neck with high low hem, both with lace overlay.
Pattern Sizing:
A (8-10-12-14-16-18)Made size 14
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
It looked like the package. I made view C workout the belt.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The directions were really easy to follow. The most confusing part was the lapped zipper. I looked at those directions 4 times before I attempted it.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love that:
• there aren't a bunch of pattern pieces,
• the directions are written well,
• the pattern lends itself well to fabric print matching,
• the lapped zipper was really easy to install and looks great
I dislike that:
• there weren't any pockets
• the bodice is hand stitched

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
None
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I plan to see a few more of these in solids and other prints. I recommend it to anyone.
Conclusion:
I love this pattern and the finished product. And for about $2.50 from Wal-Mart, this pattern is a clear winner. The simple and classic silhouette ensure this style will be around for a while. It's on trend but not trendy.
