Hey Loves! I don't know many people who didn`t try McCall's 6886. The simple fitted sheath was a huge hit. It was easy to make and looked really flattering. I loved it. Well, today, I'm sharing how I reinvented one of my favorite patterns. I hate to admit it but I'm getting older. My body is changing. My style is also changing.  I went from fired and sexy to cute and comfy overnight it seems. Anybody else feel like that? I needed a cute dress for a trip. I pulled out McCall's 6886. I thought that's easy but I want something a little less fitted. Then, I thought well just make it bigger. I love the shape, but need a little more room. So, I cut the view F of the pattern 1 size too big. I added 3/4 length sleeves. It came out perfect. I used a super soft knit from JoAnn Fabrics . Guess what, it's actually on clearance now! Hey Loves! I'm excited about this post.  Well, when am I not excited about a post? I made this Spring ready dress using M6754, fabric from Fabricmart, and my Brother SE400. I love this fabric.  It's an ottoman double knit from Fabric Mart .  It's a great weight.  The inside is super soft and the outside had a pretty texture. I decided to add a little embroidery to this pretty periwinkle fabric.  I love my SE-400.  It allows me to personalize my garments. The embroidery took quite a while.  Each of those flowers is an individual file.  Each file required five thread changes.  This is one of the free designs preloaded on the machine.  I planned to do an entire bodice panel but our took too long.  I may finishthe panel one day. Hey loves! My prom season is over! Whew! While others are just getting started, I've wrapped it up just in time to submit this beauty in that 2018 Red Carpet Contest. Let me just tell you this young lady was shining.  She wanted her dress to sparkle and it did.    I used my TNT pattern McCall's 6886 to get started.  I've found so many uses for that pattern.  For the lining, I used Superflex Compression Performance Fabric-Black from JoAnn Fabrics.  Yes, compression fabric!  She didn't want to have to wear support garments.  Do you blame her?!  The compression fabric gives her support and keeps her dry so she can enjoy dancing all night!
