Hey Loves, I grew months ago I ordered the infamous ZOZO suit.  I left it sitting because I hoped I'd lose some weight.  Well, guess what I didn't.  Who looses weight over the holidays? Who was I kidding? Well, I was about to start my first project of 2019.  I thought to myself, "Wait wait wait! Get in that suit and get your measurements." I did it and I'm glad I did.  Do I look amazing? Heck no!  But, I love the technology behind this. Set up wasn't a walk in the park.  There's a tutorial that walls you through the pepper way to wear the suit and stand. It took 5 different table heights in 2 different rooms to get it to work. It told me the lighting was bad or too good and I was too close or too far away. Once I was in the perfect position, it worked like a charm. Turn around in a circle and it takes all the measurements. Hey Loves! I'm excited about this post!  I love getting dressed up!  When I think about getting dressed up, I always think of dresses, pretty hair, and a little makeup! When my hubby announced on a Monday that he was going to be in a wedding that Friday, I immediately thought about making a dress.  I consulted my favorite guy on what I should wear. I showed him a few options. He seemed to like the flowing sexy styles of A & B.  Honestly, I was glad because my body needs some work. A fitted dress like C & D would have left me self conscious and trying to cover up all day. Hey Loves! It's been a while. I've been busy getting my boys ready for school to start and studying for a certification. So, I haven't been very active on the blog or on social media, but I couldn't let today pass without sharing this cute little shirt that I made for my middle guy's first day of school. I made it using Siser vinyl & a thrifted Cricut Expression I purchased from Salvation Army for about $40. It came with 3 cartridges which initially I was a little bummed about but I'm so glad that I have those cartridges now.  I ran into a couple of issues while trying to create the shirt: I broke the power cord for my laptop so I couldn't use the software that I normally use to create images for the Cricut. Who breaks the power cord?!  ME, of course! There was no orange vinyl in the store for the basketball. The only orange vinyl was glitter and that just won't work for a boy. Hey Loves! I'm back.  It's been a minute!  I've been busy! But, I took a quick break to make something for me. Top & Headband: By Me (New Look A6519; Cotton from Wal-Mart); Jeans: Target  (Similar); Shoes: JustFab  (Reeta) I saw the cutest yellow and black polka dot fabric in Wal-Mart on clearance (2 yards for $1.87).  When I saw it, I immediately thought about New Look A6519.  It's just one of those patterns I pick up often and put it back because the fabric isn't quite right.  Well, this was the one. I got home and printed one of the croquis from Golden Rippy .  I took a few minutes to sketch it out.  I enjoyed it so much! After sketching, I knew jeans would be perfect. Hey Loves! I entered a contest on SewingReview.com . The contests required you to pick a fashion inspiration and sew a less expensive version of the inspiration.  Here's my make: It was inspired by the following items: I sketched my idea. I used my favorite strapless bodice Simplicity 4070 and a simple leggings pattern NewLook 6533 to make the jumpsuit. I self drafted the detachable skirt. Bodice:  Followed the directions from S4070. Bottom: Cut with a medium waist and graded to a large hip. Used full pattern piece without cutting off the waistband. Opened back seam about 5" for zipper. Matched side and back seams with the bodice and attached. Detachable skirt: Cut 3 layers of 96" of tulle. Gathered the tulle to my waist measurement. Attached the tulle to satin ribbon. Hey Loves! So, I'm kinda a pattern hoarder.  I buy them.  I look at them.  That's about it. This year, I'm trying to pick patterns I really want to sew to build my wardrobe and to get rid of some of my fabric stash. When I saw the McCall's $2.99 pattern sale, I decided to make my first direct McCall's purchase.  The waiting almost took me out.  The package arrived today and my eyes lit up. Here's what was in the package:   I love them all.  I can't wait to plan a few looks with them in my new FREE sewing planner by Seamwork Magazine . Hey Loves! I attended a roaring 20s party.  Here's all about how my costume came together. I received an invite to a roaring 20s themed birthday party. I immediately thought about making a flapper dress.   I checked out Pinterest ands saw a lot of sequins and a lot of fringe.  All you of you that dabble in sewing know that those things can be expensive.   I also hate sewing sequins! I saw this pic and thought this is totally doable.  I was going to make the dress,  but I just didn't feel like it.   So my hubby digested I go buy something.   He even came along.   I'm glad he did because he found the perfect dress hiding on a sale rack for $5 in Rainbow .  You know I love a deal.  I wish I had taken pics of the back. So, I'm checking out linky parties and ran across Putting Me Together's One Piece Many Ways Linkup .  I'm not really big on being photographed more the once wearing the same thing.  So, I don't have many pictures of me wearing the same thing twice.
