Sew with Me: The Heritage Dress

Hey Loves! I'm excited about this dress.   First, it's self drafted - my design. Second,  that fabric is to die for - I'm not dying over any fabric but you know what I'm saying.  I'm proud of this dress. I hope you guys like it.   It may be available for purchase soon.  **wink wink** Here's the dress: Let's talk about the details.    Fabric: This dress is made from cotton but it reminds me of the beautiful Ankara prints I see everywhere.    Bodice Front: The front is very simple - high v-neck with cap sleeves.  Bodice Back: The back has a low v-neck with button accents.  Skirt: The skirt is full with two pleats in the front and back.  I added a sash that I looped in the front and tied in the back.    Front Back What do you think?   It's comfotable and cute.   I'll be making more of them and possibly adding a zipper.  Alright loves. Until next time... Smooches!

Not Quite Enough: McCall's 6752 & Me

Hey Loves! How are you guys?  It's been a while, but I've been busy.  So busy, I finished the project at the end of July and I'm just posting it.  I know, I know. But without any more delay... I picked up this pattern at JoAnn's. I saw the dress and thought it was a really nice silhouette.  I didn't have a fabric in mind but I really like the pattern.  About a month later, I was in Hancock checking out the $3.95 table (yes, I love that table).  I found this cute turquoise and black stretch knit.  I got home and the 2 became 1. While cutting I realized I didn't have enough fabric to make the bottom long enough.  Now, trust me I could have rocked the mini but that wasn't the look I was going for. I was trying for work, church, or weekend versatile.  I decided to go ahead with what I had and find some black knit to finish it.  I did just that. It turned out better than expected.  The pattern was easy too.  I'll be making a few more of these.
